Pomegranate

The fruit is the size of a large orange, obscurely six-sided, with a smooth leathery skin that ranges from brownish yellow to red; within, it is divided into several chambers containing many thin transparent arils of reddish, juicy pulp, each surrounding an angular elongated seed.

Pomegranates are rich in antioxidants, fiber, and a variety of vitamins and minerals. Pomegranates may also help protect against cancer, support exercise endurance, and prevent harmful germs.

A pomegranate is a sweet, tart fruit with thick, red skin. While the skin is not edible, it holds hundreds of juicy seeds that you can eat plain or sprinkle on salads, oatmeal, hummus, and other dishes.
